| 02.09.2011Bayer Sheet Europe Renamed Bayer MaterialScience Name change effective October 1, 2011, reflects branding strategy Darmstadt, September 2, 2011 - Effective October 1, 2011, the Bayer Sheet Europe group of companies with its three locations in Belgium, Germany and Italy will be renamed. The new name will be: in Germany, Bayer MaterialScience GmbH; in Belgium, Bayer MaterialScience N.V.; and in Italy, Bayer MaterialScience SpA. The reason for the name change is the corporation's strategic focus on the Bayer umbrella brand. The name change does not affect the customers of the manufacturer of high-end polycarbonate sheets. The product names will remain the same. Vivak® polyester sheets for store displays, and Makrolon® polycarbonate sheets for construction, recently used in a unique combination on a surface of more than 45,000 square meters in the new Gdansk arena for the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship, are just two of the company's successful product ranges. The name change of Bayer Sheet Europe to a company name that highlights the Bayer umbrella brand emphasizes the origin and consistency of the Bayer brand name in the worldwide polycarbonate business.
