Bayer Sheet Europe - Spotlight on the environment
"Climate change", "carbon dioxide emissions" and "energy shortages" are the buzz words of our time, linked to global development. Energy prices are going up nearly every day - as any of us who goes to the pumps at the service station well knows - and greenhouse gas emissions, caused by humans, are constantly on the increase, along with the continuing economic development of emerging nations too. Long-term solutions for the growing problems facing the energy budget are essential!
The sustainable harnessing of existing resources is, of course, one of the most expedient and effective measures that each of us can take. Individuals can make a difference by their own decisions and actions and the use of energy-saving building materials is one such positive step.
At Bayer Sheet Europe we seek to use our experience and capabilities to contribute to the conservation of global resources. We are constantly updating our product portfolio with innovative and energy-saving panels made from the highly transparent synthetic material Makrolon®.
In this newsletter we will be giving you more detailed information on one example, the 5M-panel, our new multi wall sheet development. It is light, translucent and yet extremely heat-insulating and that is why we have nicknamed it "the energy saving sheet". The use of Makrolon® as the base material also guarantees it a long - and thus eco-friendly - life.
I hope you enjoy perusing our new Newsletters and hope that our information und proposals will help you in your business!

A rooftop view of the games
A crest of Makrolon® polycarbonate multi wall sheets connects to the outer ring of the stadium, made of a light, material-saving steel construction covered with a membrane (192 m in lateral-, 230 m in longitudinal direction). Using the spoke wheel structure, the builders were able to roof over this area in the interior zone without any stanchions, thus avoiding any obstacles to visibility. The structure reduced to a minimum creates a liberating and lively atmosphere for games, sport and entertainment.
